i could just google this but do any of you nerds know why we say 'souped up'?
what's the soup connection? soup's a funny word innit. why not 'soop'?

I always thought it was related to superchargers
which were fitted to engines yonks ago.

I'm not a huge fan of soups, but leek and potato is pretty good.

apparently "soup" was a term for any concotion of drugs pumped into a horse to make it go faster, long before any sort of forced induction used in engines. So "soup" is the right spelling.
